PROS:
- i REALLY enjoy sharing my ideas on home/craft projects
- sharing a successful (and scrumptious) recipe makes my efforts feel like even more of a success
- the site is a mini-record of random thoughts that i can later refer back to quite quickly
- i can promote my small home business (((with love... from jessiemint)))
- i was inspired to do new things after following one friends blog and i think it would be cool to do the same for someone else
- it's yet another outlet to vent feelings and share life stories
- others seem to enjoy when i do post
- it's a scrapbook of my life
CONS:
- running a good blog (that's worth following) is time consuming
- i don't always have fun/blog-worthy ideas to share (my life is just sometimes... normal)
- i'm so busy living my life at the moment i can't always find time to get on and type up what's going on
- i love having pictures with my blog posts and that takes too much effort sometimes
- my current students have found me on the world-wide-web and i'm not sure how much of my personal life i want them to know about (sorry if you're reading this students)
- sometimes it feels like a duty and not a recreation
- facebook allows me to post some of my "bloggy" things with less effort
Weighing the pros and cons of this blog haven't swayed me one way or the other on what to do, but they have given me somethings to think over. I admire all the blogs I follow that post regularly (how do you manage to do it?!). Here's to thinking it over!

Jessie... I love reading your blog, I am always so excited to see a new post, but I would never like to think of undo stress on you!! If you continue I would be wondefully delighted, but only if you can find a way to do it stress free!! Summer may give you more time and energy to post fun things.. You could a blog active in the summer, and very limited posts during the school year!
ReplyDeleteJessie, thanks for the shout out. For me I make time in the morning. I'm a morning person so I get up early before I have to get ready and I blog. We all need breaks from time to time. Don't feel the pressure to blog more than you have time for. Blog once or twice a week. Another thing that I do is when I do have time I'll throw down multiple blogs. Two weekends ago I wrote all my blogs for the next week. I enjoy your blog, but don't feel the pressure to do it.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog too! But I totally understand your cons! I think you should do it when and if you feel like it! Feel free to be you!!! Love you!
ReplyDeleteI say keep going. One of my blogs is new but the other one I started a few years ago and I've been intermittent on that one lately. I've come back now and made it slightly easier to manage (it's a word game) so it takes me less time to blog. It's really worth it. You can do it. And if you have a break, then that's okay too. Just come back to us soon.
